UMA Campus History Collection

The University of Maine at Augusta has a brief but vibrant history, born on its first Augusta campus in 1965. Since then, UMA has grown to occupy its Bangor campus, as well as several locations throughout Maine.

The Katz Library houses photographs, press, marketing materials, and other documents charting the history of the University of Maine at Augusta from 1965 to the present. The Nottage Library in Bangor houses historical information about the UMA Bangor campus, including photographs from earlier campus iterations and records concerning Bangor’s former Dow Air Force Base, the current site of UMA-Bangor.

The UMA Campus History Collection’s unprocessed materials are preserved and maintained by the Katz Library and Nottage Library staff and are currently unavailable to the public. For information about access and use of these materials, please contact the Katz Library or the Nottage Library.
