Peer/Colleague Review

You can ask  a colleague to review your course, or even part of your course, from a design perspective or a student perspective. Peer reviews can be useful for the reviewer and the reviewee. Collaboration can provide feedback, experience with different teaching styles, and promote collegiality. You can request general overall feedback or more meaningful feedback by posing questions or asking for feedback on a particular area of your course. For example, some specific feedback may be on

  • ease of navigation
  • learning outcomes alignment with content and assessments
  • opportunities for formative and summative assessments
  • types of assessments
  • accessing third party content (do the links work and are the instructions clear)
  • course load
  • instructor presence (including feedback)
  • content is presented in multiple ways (videos, text, additional resources, etc) to support Universal Design for Learning
